A PROFESSIONAL DIGITAL STORY TELLING TOOL

                                              THE WINBOOK TABLET

I purchased the WINBOOK 7” TW700 TABLET about a month and a half ago, and I am satisfied with the performance of this tablet. I purchased this tablet from the Micro Center in Yonkers, New York, at the Cross County Shopping Center. The WINBOOK TABLET is a reasonably priced tool that professionally assists Digital Story Tellers in creating successful Digital Story Telling projects.
The WINBOOK TABLET operates on WINDOWS 8.1 system with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800, a Graphics Coprocessor, and a Graphics RAM Card for excellent video and imaging recording and playback. The WINBOOK records exactly what it is programmed to view with the professional video results. This wireless tablet (802.11 BGN, Bluetooth) has a Hard Drive of 16GB with ports for SD Memory Storage Cards for additional storage up to 64 GB.
The WINBOOK requires about 8GB to operate it, so with only 8GB to work with, it is beneficial to purchase a 64GB SD Memory Card. The WINBOOK has USB ports, Mini-HDMI ports, and a battery operating capabilities up to 5 hours after charging. My dilemma at the moment is trying to match up video imaging of the WINBOOK with the WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER. I encountered problems with transferring the edited version of video imaging to my Blogger.com Blog. The malfunctioning of my LENOVO X-15 has a lot to with editing WINBOOK produced projects on the WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER.
I’m currently using an HP Computer with the operating system of Windows 8, which has a different version of WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER. One the most intriguing aspects about taking pictures or creating videos to produce Mobile
Stories in public, no one seems to notice the WINBOOK TABLET is also a camera until you inform them. A free one year subscription of MICROSOFT OFFICE 365 is a bonus package that is included with the purchase of the WINBOOK 7” TW700 TABLET. The WINBOOK is distributed by Micro Center Stores and sold online by Amazon. What great tool for Digital Story Telling.

            STORY BLOG: BECAREFUL OF RETAILERS

                            Author: Randy Daryl McNair

Computers and Tablets are some of the best tools for creating Digital Story Telling projects. The newest computers and mini-computers known as tablets contains some the best hardware, software, and digital features in today’s new digital media devices. The Problem is you cannot trust the salespeople that sell these new devices.

Three months ago I bought a Lenovo X-15 Laptop with the 8.1 Windows System and a multiple collection of the latest Apps. I paid about $500 for the laptop, which included 1 year Accidental Damage Warranty for $59. The Lenovo automatically comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty from the Lenovo Company. Three weeks ago the Lenovo X-15 stopped operating. The computer would not start. I returned the laptop to Micro Center located in the Cross County Shopping Center in Yonkers, New York.

When I placed the laptop on the counter of the service desk technicians to my surprise, there was a customer that complained about paying $1,000 for his laptop including $129 Accidental Damage for 2-year insurance. The customer’s argument was that this was the second time he returned the computer for repairs and having to pay the service charges. When it came to my turn, the technician diagnosed the computer needs to be reset and all my files had to be backed up on a USB Flash drive, in order to reset the computer. I left the laptop at the store with the instructions to fully service the computer.

I was charged $71 and change for the repair service charges, However, I returned to the Micro Center under the impression that my computer was fully serviced. Since the technical support center was busy and I was tired from coming straight from work, I did not check the computer, believing they fully serviced the laptop. After I made it safely home with the laptop, to my surprise the same problem still remained, it would not start up. I decided to re-read the Lenovo Warranty which covered parts and labor for 1 year. The Lenovo X-15 is still in my home, out of service.

I have so busy with school and work, and then getting sick with a congested flu-cold last week, I haven’t time to call the Lenovo Company. The theme of this story do trust retail persons.

Larkins Plaza is a beautiful historical landmark in the downtown section of Yonkers, New York. Larkins Plaza contains community and historical sites of Van Der Donck Park, Yonkers River Front Public Library, Yonkers Metro-North (Hudson Line and Amtrak) Train Station, and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

In the video about you will see how Van Der Donck Park actually faces the Department of Motor Vehicles, Yonkers Metro-North Train Station, and Yonkers River Front Library.Van Der Douck Park was named after Adriaem Van Der Donck, a political lawyer in the 1600’s. Originally from New Netherland, Van Der Donck was an active community man that influenced immigrants from New Netherland to relocate to New York, USA. He studied the Native American Cultures of Mohawks and Mahicans.

Van Der Donck Park was originally a park with wooden benches, water-sprinkler, and a parking lot. In 2010, Van Der Donck Park was closed for renovation and remodelimg. The park was remodeled and connected to the Saw Mill River to enhance the appearance of Downtown Yonkers. Van Der Donck Park reopened in 2013. With the flowing of the Saw Mill River and benches on all four sides of the park, there have been several public events including performances of live musical groups showcased at Van Der Donck Park.
